Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, phone number, birthday, profile details, notification preferences, support messages, and other information you choose to add to your account.

We collect birthday and reminder information that you add for other people, including names, birthdays, notes, profile images, calendar details, and related reminder settings. If you choose to import from contacts, calendars, CSV files, Facebook, or similar sources, we use the information you select to create or update birthday reminders.

If you create or send cards, we may collect card designs, drawings, images, messages, sender and recipient information, delivery links, and related metadata needed to provide the card experience.

If you purchase a subscription or other paid feature, we receive purchase status, entitlement, receipt, product, and transaction information from Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

We automatically collect device, usage, analytics, diagnostics, log, crash, IP address, app version, operating system, notification token, and similar technical information when you use the Service.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve the Service.
• Create birthday reminders, widgets, notifications, and cards.
• Process subscriptions, purchases, entitlements, and restores.
• Send push notifications, text reminders, and service messages.
• Respond to support requests and communicate with you.
• Analyze usage, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and protect the Service.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Permissions

Some features ask for device permissions, such as contacts, calendar, notifications, camera, and photo library access. You can change these permissions in your device settings. If you disable a permission, some features may not work.

When you grant contacts or calendar access, hbd uses that access to help you import birthdays, invite friends, or sync birthday events. hbd does not store your full address book or full calendar. We store the birthday information and related details that you choose to add to hbd.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website and third-party services used by hbd may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, analytics identifiers, or similar technologies to keep the Service working, understand usage, improve performance, and prevent abuse. You may be able to limit cookies or identifiers through your browser or device settings.

Third-Party Services

We use service providers to host, operate, analyze, support, and improve hbd. These providers may process information for us subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Providers may include:

• RevenueCat
• Apple
• Twilio

How We Share Information

We share information with service providers that help us operate the Service, such as hosting, database, analytics, notifications, messaging, purchases, and customer support providers.

We may share information with other users when you use social or sharing features, such as sending a card or sharing a birthday link. We may also share information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to prevent fraud or abuse, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your private birthday lists, contacts, or card content for third-party advertising.

Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may delete information in the app where available or contact us for help.

Your Choices

You can update or delete certain account, friend, birthday, card, notification, and permission settings in the app. You can opt out of push notifications through device settings and turn off text reminders in hbd settings. To request access, correction, deletion, or another privacy action, contact us at help@hbd.cool.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International Users

hbd is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date above and post the revised policy on this page. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
